Dr. Ed Hood has practiced cosmetic and family dentistry in Livingston Parish since 1990. Since then, Hood Dental Care has grown to 5 locations in East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parishes. We offer a full-menu of dental services from oral hygiene exams to complete smile makeovers. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ll be sure to take great care of you!

While we do not accept walk-ins, except for emergencies, we do offer convenient online booking here.

Directions to Our Livingston Parish Dental Practice

Hood Dental Care’s Livingston practice is easily found off Hwy 63 (South Frost Rd). Whether you’re coming from downtown Livingston or I-12, it’s easy to find us thanks to our newly built practice that’s bright white with a large white electronic sign out front. We also have a huge parking lot with nearly 50 spaces, so you’ll never have to worry about parking!

South from Hwy 190 (Florida Blvd.):
  • Get off Hwy 190/Florida Blvd. and head south on S Frost Road. 
  • Remain on S Frost Rd for 1.5 miles while continuing southbound. 
  • When you see Government Blvd. on your right (where the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and Livingston Parish Courthouse are located) be prepared to enter our parking lot on your left.
  • You’ll see our large white digital sign at our entrance and you’re welcome to park anywhere in our  large parking lot and come on in. 

North from I-12:
  • Get off I-12 and head northbound on S Frost Rd. 
  • We will be on your righthand side in only ½ mile from the interstate, so we’re pretty close on your right.
  • Once you pass Shell and then the Burger King, we’ll be in the next parking lot that is marked by our large white digital sign.
  • You’re welcome to park where you like, as we have ample space.

Hood Dental Care & Our Livingston Parish Roots:

Dr. Ed Hood, founder of Hood Dental Care, was born and raised in Livingston Parish. Like many on our team, he went to Denham Springs High School and graduated in the Class of 1977. After securing his DDS from LSU, he returned to Livingston Parish to open Hood Dental Care. Thankfully, the community has rallied behind local dentistry to allow us to open five (5) convenient locations throughout the region.

We are proud members of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce and appreciate all the support the community has provided us over the decades!

Our resident Livingston dentists, Drs. Holly Cantu and Sydney Lahasky are also Louisiana natives. Dr. Cantu was also raised in neighboring Denham Springs and is a also a graduate of Denham Springs High School. Likewise, she is also a graduate of LSU. After completing Dental School, Dr. Cantu returned home to Denham Springs and Livingston Parish to settle down and establish her family’s roots where they remain today.

Dr. Lahasky grew up in New Iberia and moved to Baton Rouge to also attend LSU School of Dentistry, where she graduated top of her class! Like Dr. Cantu, Dr. Lahasky has decided to make Livingston Parish home and she’s excited to help local families with their oral healthcare.
