Dr. Ed Hood opened Hood Dental Care in 1990, offering oral healthcare and dental services to those living in Livingston Parish. In the following decades, Hood Dental Care has expanded to 5 locations throughout the local parishes. The Watson office offers our most specialized procedures from conscious and IV sedation dentistry to sleep disordered breathing (SDB) treatments!

Our Watson dental office is conveniently found on Hwy 16 , but please pay special attention to our driving directions before you visit, as Hwy 16 has a divided median that requires special attention. Similarly, please call ahead on certain holidays that could possibly impact our hours of operation. While we only accept walk-ins for dental emergencies, we do offer online appointment scheduling here.

Visiting Our Dental Clinic Near Denham Springs

Hood Dental Care’s Watson practice is between Watson and Denham Springs on Hwy 12. Unfortunately, the highway splits with a divided median that only allows turn at certain intervals. Please read the driving directions below and keep an eye open for our large brick digital sign in front of the building. We have plenty of parking, so find a spot and come on in!

South from Watson:
  • Starting in Watson, head southbound on Hwy 12.
  • Remain on Hwy 12 for just over 2 miles. We will be on your righthand side.
  • You’ll see Paradise Pools on your right and then some residential homes. We’re right after the homes.
  • You’ll see our large brick digital sign at our entrance and you’re welcome to pull in there and park anywhere in front of our building or nearby.

North from Denham Springs:
  • Starting in Denham Springs, head northbound on Hwy 12.
  • Continue north for 4 ¼ miles. 
  • Shortly, you’ll see the Watson Pet Hospital and then Farr Insurance Group on your right. The next cross-street is Acadiana Ave.
  • Turn left on Acadiana Ave/Amite Church Rd. but be aware that oncoming traffic does not stop.
  • Once you’re able to turn, take your second immediate right after the bank. This is a concrete drive and is at the 35MPH sign.
  • Pull around to our practice and park in front.

The dentists at our Watson location offer our patients with our most specialized treatment options. In example, we’re able to treat sleep disordered breathing (SDB), obstructive sleep apnea, IV and conscious sedation dentistry, orthodontics (such as Invisalign and Six Month Smile braces), and dental implants in Watson.

At the Watson location of Hood Dental Care, you can find four (4) dental hygienists and our resident dentist, Dr. Alexander Simon.

Thanks to our neighbors and friends, Hood Dental Care now operates five dental practices in the local community. And we’re a local business through and through too, as nearly all the team members, including the Hood Family, are born and raised locals to Livingston Parish. It’s actually kind of funny how many of us went to Denham Springs High School and LSU,  and our Watson location is nearly identical.

Dr. Alexander Simon is a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He graduated from Catholic High in 2011, and earned a degree in Biological Sciences from LSU. He attended LSU school of dentistry where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Alexander strives to offer gentle and compassionate care to make every patient feel comfortable and welcomed in the dental chair. Dr. Alexander has a passion for learning and providing the most up to date treatment options that cater to each patient individually. In his free time, Dr. Alexander loves to tailgate/watch LSU sports, travel, cook, play soccer, and golf.

Hood Dental Care and the doctors are members of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce and appreciate all the support the community has shown them over the years.
